The highly-awaited second season of the adult animated musical series Hazbin Hotel arrives on Prime Video soon, and audience theories has been widespread.
Season 1 introduces a large cast of characters living within the afterlife, sets them at odds with songs detailing their conflicts, and establishes heated competitions and emotional bonds that fuel fan obsession.
The community's expectations for season 2 vary widely, but certain threads recur frequently: Will Angel Dust break free from Valentino? Might we learn more about the binding agreement constraining Alastor the Radio Demon? Might certain characters' relationships evolve?
"Obviously, I don't produce the show with fan service as the main goal," the showrunner stated earlier this year. "However I believe that me being a fan of my own show means there's a lot of it just naturally. I also am eager for these things, and I hope some of these things to happen, and obviously some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"
The creator reveals her big-picture plan is for a five-season run of Hazbin Hotel. Seasons 3 and 4 have already been green-lit by the production companies, which finance the series.
That might mean viewers have to be patient for some of the major resolutions — but they may be surprised at how fast the new season moves, and how many of what they're waiting for happens now.
"I believe people are going to get a lot out of it," she adds. "There are several debut moments. I think we get some incredible reveals, some fascinating origin tales, and even basic elements, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] Audiences will experience much more singing from the characters we didn't get to hear before."
She's certainly aware of the theories and desires about the upcoming season — especially in the form of fan bingo cards.
"I've come across a few fans create a bingo card about the new season," she mentions. "Obviously I can't post it, but I've already completed some of them, and nearly every one of them have almost a bingo. I was like, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that makes me think we accomplish much [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I realized, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that brings me joy."
Hazbin Hotel the second season launches on Prime Video on Oct. 29.
